Sulphur-Crested Cockatoos Brooch

55.00

Ah, the sulphur-crested cockatoo! A true beauty in our Australian environment; its stunning colours and soft feathers just inspired me. The pink flowering gum has to be one of my favourite native flowers as well, so delicate and pretty.

I have three versions of this iconic Aussie bird:

  • Glitter - Crystal white body; amber gold accents with holographic glitter inside; rose gold flowers with glitter all through a clear resin, giving depth and looking different in every lighting.

  • Pastel and Pearlescent - Crystal white body; a sold pastel yellow (most realistic choice), with a pearlescent pink for the flowers. No glitter is in this bird, but the pink does have a lovely pearl sheen in the light.

  • Crystal - Crystal white body, amber gold accents with holographic glitter inside. A warm crystal pink (same as my galah brooch) is used on the flowers, matching the body and giving depth.

(Please note the edges have an orange/brown tint to them - this is a result of the acrylic and laser-cutter and is out of my hands, although I think it adds a nice depth to the edges of the birds.)

A beautiful addition to any outfit, this brooch is made with two layers of patterned acrylic with hand embellished details. Cut in Brisbane and hand assembled in the Eliza Rose studio, this beautiful brooch is sure to add some joy to your day!

Some facts:

  • 49mm across, 90mm tall (Similar size to the rainbow lorikeets).

  • As the pieces are individually hand crafted in the studio, there may be minor differences, making each one unique. Also, please keep in mind slight colour variations between computer/phone screens.

  • The grey of the beaks have a fantastic “scratched” looking texture - each one is different.

  • Pieces are delicate and are to be treated with care.

  • All brooches may vary slightly in colour due to acrylic variations.

  • Roller brooch on the back for secure hold.
